The Barcelona International Golf Cup 2020, an initiative of the Barcelona Golf Academy, and organized by the Club de Golf Barcelona, was held from the 2nd to the 4th of October. This event scores for the WAGR (World Amateur Golf Ranking) and for the Grand Prix Absolute, and for Boys/Girls of the Federació Catalana de Golf in 2020.
Congratulations to all the players who, during these three days, have played under adverse weather conditions. The rain and wind for the first two rounds made the game very hard, but luckily we enjoyed a sunny day for the great final round and the awards ceremony.
Taking part from the Barcelona Golf Academy were Alejandro de Castro, Joan Panisello, Maxim Danilin, Vladimir Taldykin and Marc Pantaleoni who played the tournament at the Men’s Scratch competition; meanwhile Valeria Biargé played the Women’s Scratch competition. And congratulations to the champions, who were Víctor García Broto (Scratch Men), Álvaro Roldos (Boys) and Daniela Campillo (Scratch Women and Girls).
More than fifty amateur players participated, of which some thirty were of junior age. This first edition of the Barcelona International Golf Cup is the first step of a project that aims to become, in short or medium term, a benchmark event in Europe among the scoring events for the World Amateur Golf Ranking, based at the Club de Golf Barcelona.
