We travelled to Segovia from 10th to 12th of May 2019 to play the Copa de Castilla y León Femenina. Two EIBGA players with high potential enjoyed the well-deserved trip to La Faisanera Golf to compete in this event, scoring for the WAGR World Ranking and for the Spanish Absolute and U-18 Rankings, and also to visit the old town.
Our protagonists, Nina Rissi and Valeria Biargé, played against more than 50 of the best golfers in the Spanish panorama. At the end of the first day the leadership was shared by Nina and Ainhoa Gurrutxaga with 67 shots (-4). A fantastic game with ten birdies and just a couple of bogeys.
In the second round Nina did not have her best day, and she lagged behind with a 74. But in the third and last round she returned to show all her talent and with a 68 she recovered to finish fourth place, for a total of 209 strokes, only four behind from the winner, Nieves Martín (205).
On the other hand Valeria did a tournament with a progressive way, and with three rounds of 77, 71 and 75 for a total of 223 strokes (+10), she finished in a fine 18º position, with a very good feelings.
An impressive performance in three days of competition. Next event, the Individual Women’s Spanish Championship at Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, from May 26 to 29. Let’s go for it!
