The Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) of the Michigan State University (MSU) celebrated the 25th anniversary of its Spartan Academic Excellence Gala on the night of Monday, April 11th, 2022, at the Breslin Center.
In the event, the best student athletes of the University, those in their third semester at MSU, or graduates, were awarded for obtaining good qualifications (GPA) during the 2021 academic year. Special awards were given to the director of the women’s golf team, and its player Nina Rissi, who came from the Barcelona Golf Academy.
For the hard work and dedication of the women’s golf team, which continues to propel the Spartans to success both in the classroom and on the golf courses, the Athletic Director’s Award was presented to head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll. This is the ninth time that the women’s team has won this award.
The team has won the Big Ten Championship title six of those nine times, and holds the highest results average (3.695) of all the university female sports teams.
The second prize awarded for honors went to Nina Rissi, with the highest category (highest honor) based on her average of 3.98 out of 4.0.
Finally, Nina also received the Schollar-Athlete Award for achieving the highest average within her own team.
Congratulations Nina, on well-deserved recognition for your excellent work.
We are very proud of you!
