Last week’s good news included the Spanish victory in the Women’s Hexagonal Match, in Costa Ballena, Cádiz, after defeating Ireland in the grand final and winning the leaderboard with 16.5 points. And among the members of the Spanish team was one of the pupils of the the Barcelona Golf Academy, Daniela Campillo. She and her teammates merit our applause.
We are very proud, as the history of players of the academy continues to grow as four girls and two boys have now taken part in the national teams of several countries. If we were to create a collective photo of them, it would include Nina Rissi, who has been part of the Brazilian and Spanish teams; Laura Pasalodos and Daniela Campillo, who have played in the Spanish teams; and Maxim Danilin, Alisa Khokhlova and Erik Shukhart, who have defended Russia’s teams.
The first day in Costa Ballena provided a total of seven points to Spain, to lead the standings, where Daniela won her individual. On the second day, Spain established itself in first place with 13 points, with Daniela winning her foursome with Marta Aguilar. And on the third day, Spain maintained its position to reach the grand final against Ireland, where Daniela won again her foursome with Balma Dávalos.
Congratulations to the whole team globally, and to Daniela in particular.
