Every time one of our amateur players debuts at a professional Tour, we are filled with pride and joy. A few days ago Alisa Khokhlova started out in the LET Access Series, and last week Valeria Biargé debuted in the Santander Golf Tour.
The event was the Santander Golf Tour Madrid, and it was held at Golf Santander, in Boadilla del Monte, Madrid. A good number of the best Spanish professional golfers participated in it: Mireia Prat, Elia Folch, María Hernández, Marta Sanz, Patricia Sanz, María Beautell … as well as several foreign players such as Finnish Tiia Koivisto, who has just won a place to the Ladies European Tour through LET Access.
In the first round Valeria started quite well, with five pars, a birdie and three bogeys that placed her with 38 strokes. A shame about the double bogey on the 10th hole and the difficulties on the 17th hole, which set her back to 46th place with a round of 85 shots. Assisted by her father as caddy, in the second round Valeria showed more solid play and managed to finish positively, with another good 38 in the last nine, for a round of 80 shots and a total of 166, in 45th place.
A great opportunity taken up by Valeria who, while still being an amateur, has already begun to experience the world of professional golf. Congratulations!!
