One of the most talented players who has went through the Barcelona Golf Academy of the Club de Golf Barcelona is, without a doubt, Alisa Khokhlova. We do not forget about her, because we miss her, but we continue to follow in her footsteps at the University of Delaware, and we are glad of all the good results she achieves.
As the most recent, since she has been runner-up in the 2023 Russian Amateur Open Championship, which the Russian Golf Federation has organized from Tuesday 19th to Friday 23rd of June at the Gorki Golf Club, a high standing club near St. Petersburg, in the Leningrad region.
She has only been beaten by Kate Petrova, from the University of Evansville, who finished with 275 strokes (-13), the lowest score in the history of the event. Impossible to catch up, Alisa Khokhlova finished the tournament in a creditable second position, with 282 strokes.
In addition, Alisa has just had very good results this year with her university’s golf team, being 6th in the Red Rocks Invitational (+1), 2nd in the Pinetree CC Women’s Collegiate (-6), and 10th in the CAA Womens Championship, all scoring events for the WAGR.
Although Alisa is not the only one who plays tournaments around the world. In mid-June we also had a player from the academy, Matteo Sasdelli, playing the Italian Junior National Championship ‘Silvio Marazza Trophy’, in Terre dei Consoli.
A four-round championship where Matteo achieved the challenge of going through the cut, with cards of 76 and 72, and to end the weekend with 72 and 81, with a total of 302 strokes (+10), revaluing himself as the 37th best junior player from Italy, among more than 120 participants.
We are even more international!
