Our player Daniela Campillo has started the year 2022 living the golf competition with great intensity. Immediately after finishing the Catalan Double Championship, at Peralada Golf, where she took the third place, pairing up with Laia Llorens, she traveled across the Iberian Peninsula to compete in the 92nd Portuguese International Ladies Amateur Championship.
The event was held from 26th to 29th of January 2022 at Montado Golf Resort, in Setubal, near Lisbon, bringing together almost a hundred of the best European amateur players.
The Barcelona Golf Academy player displayed her full potential by delivering a splendid card of 69 shots (-3) on the second day, which placed her in the provisional Nº13 place, as a result of four birdies and a single bogey on the Portuguese course. This allowed her to pass the cut with ease to play the last round.
That brilliant game, along with the other three rounds, the first, the third and the fourth, in which she remained very regular repeating cards of 76, giving her a final result of 297 shots (+9), and a remarkable position Nº23. It has certainly been a great experience for our player, bearing in mind that the tournament was accessed through World Ranking (WAGR) and Daniela entered 80th of 90 golfers.
“It’s been a great week at the Portuguese International Championship, adding a lot of experience for what’s to come,” said Daniela Campillo.
The winner was the Italian player Francesca Fiorellini (-9) and the best Spaniard was Anna Cañadó (-2). Daniela Campillo finished seventh best Spaniard and second best Catalan in the final leaderboard.
Congratulations Daniela, now go for the next.
