Our expedition last week to Golf de Pals, on the Costa Brava in Girona, has been most successful. Players from our Barcelona Golf Academy participated in the ‘Golf de Pals International Cup’ 2021, which scores for the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and is valid for the Grand Prix of the Federació Catalana de Golf. They were rewarded by the victory of Alisa Khokhlova in the absolute women’s category.
The current champion of Catalunya 2020, Alisa, was clearly dominating the women’s event. Playing better and better, she finished the three days with cards of 79, 76 and 74 shots and a total of 229 shots. Daniela Campillo, who joined our convoy from the Club de Golf Costa Daurada, and led the first day with 77, finished second with 239 shots and ended as the champion in the Cadet category. For her part, Valeria Biargé completed the tournament in eighth tied position, with 253 shots.
In the men’s event we had a larger participation, with our best classified being Enrico Rissi, seven shots behind the winner. With cards of 77, 73 and 82 shots he rose to sixth place, with 232 shots. Five hits behind, Máxim Danilim was classified in 14th position, with 237 shots, after having scored the best result of the first round with 73. Other players in Golf de Pals were Jordan Schmid, who finished 19th with 239 shots; Alejandro de Castro 27th with 242 shots; and Joan Panisello, 33rd with 246 shots.
Our next appointment will be the first Puntuable Zonal Juvenil RFEG 2021, on 30th and 31st of January at Lumine Golf Club, in Tarragona. Go for it!
