The Club de Golf Barcelona, driven by its Barcelona Golf Academy, has once again become the club with the largest contribution of players in a National Zonal Scoring event organized by the Federació Catalana de Golf. Last weekend, the 15th and 16th of May, the 2nd National Zona Scoring Junior of the RFEG was held at Golf La Roca, an exciting junior golf experience on the course in the Valles Oriental course, where our participation was again outstanding.
The BGA attended the event with a team of 16 players, divided into the different Cadet, Infantil and Alevín categories. On the first day we already had a very good performance from Joan Panisello (picture 1) in the male Cadet category, who was placed fourth tied with a round of 71 shots, two behind the leader. A good level that Joan, 16, was able to maintain with a second round of 72, to finish 6th with a total of 143 shots. In the female Cadet category Laia Llorens started with a good 79, which later improved with a 75 on Sunday to finish 8th with 154 shots.
In Infantil category our best first round was achieved by Juan de Castro (picture 2), with 81 hits, and then surpassed with a 78 that would place him 8th with 159 shots. Jan Farré also entered the Top-10, who with good rounds of 83 and 79, finishing with 162 shots. This was the category, for players aged 13 and 14 years, where the BGA presented the most entries, in which Mateo Acevedo ending 13th with 167 shots; Kamran Hababou came 14th with 170 shots; Dylan Richardson was 18th with 174 shots; Daniil Taldykin was 20th with 175 shots; Jon Julià was 21st with 177 shots; and Alex Company finished 25th with 191 shots, after training hard for his first game in a National Scoring event.
Finally, with the youngsters in the Alevin category (Scratch Sub-12), a great result for Alex Giménez who has qualified 6th with 167 shots. He was accompanied in the competition by Samuel Ward, 9th with 173 shots; Nassim Hababou, 10th with 176 shots; Benjamin Álvaro de Castro, 17th with 193 shots; and Tahiri Salinas, 22nd with 218 shots.
Take note that in this tournament Mateo Acevedo (84 & 83) and Alex Giménez (82 & 85) both played the two days below their Handicap, for which they were very happy with the result, finishing with very good feelings.
