The world of golf is full of surprises, like the one our players Nina Rissi experienced, while pursuing her university studies in the United States and playing golf with the Michigan State University Spartans.
During her participation in the first edition of the Women’s Amateur Latin America Championship by the ANNIKA Foundation (WALA), where she ranked 25th despite not being on top form due to her surgery, she sat next to the champion Annika Sorenstam, winner of 10 Majors, who came to offer a clinic to all the participants.
Nina Rissi attended with her teammates from the Michigan team, Valery Plata and Valentina Rossi, and at the end it was Valery who won in this great competition.
To appreciate the full importance of the competition, Michigan State Golf team winner Valery Plata has been invited to play two Majors as an amateur, the AIG British Open and the Amundi Evian Championship.
