The Copa Andalucia, the first amateur event of the 2023 season, and one of the most important on the Spanish calendar, ended last Thursday, 12th of January. It was held at the Real Club de Golf Guadalhorcefor the men’s event, and at Lauro Golf for the female event, both counting for the Wolrd Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR).
The highest ranked player from the Barcelona Golf Academy was Daniela Campillo, who finished in 21st place. She struggled at the start, with an 83 in the first round, but she recovered in a phenomenal day with a 71 in the second round. With the last two rounds of 75 and 78 she finished at +19 (307 strokes). Her partners Valeria Biarge and Laia Llorens missed the cut.
And in the male category we had Erik Shukhart, who played quite well under 80, signing four rounds of 74, 77, 77 and 76, for a total of +16 (304 strokes), finishing in 43rd place. Alejandro de Castro, a player trained in the BGA and now in the Trojans of the Anderson University of the US, ranked 31st with rounds of 80, 74, 73 and 71, for a total of +10 (298 strokes).
