That the Tour of a great champion like Miguel Ángel Jiménez once again has Club de Golf Barcelona on its 2022 schedule is a huge privilege, because it fills all junior golfers with enormous excitement, wherever it goes.
Thus, on Sunday 15th of May it held a meeting in our golf course, bringing together young golfers from all over Catalonia competing in three categories: 1st (Juniors and Cadetes); 2nd (Infantiles and Alevines); and 3rd (Benjamines), with the aim of qualifying for the grand final. The event also scored for the Campeonato de España, Alevín and Benjamín 2022, and scored for the Grand Prix of the Federació Catalana de Golf.
On a fantastic day, the golfers endured high temperatures, but did their best and enjoyed the course very much. In the 1st Category, of Juniors and Cadetes, Alex Company stood out, and was proclaimed Scratch champion with 83 shots, and 2nd Handicap with 69. Meanwhile, Iker Figa was the 3rd Handicap with 74, and the 7th Scratch with 108.
In the 2nd Category, of Infantiles and Alevines, we had the largest participation and the second joy of the day with the Handicap winner, Alex Giménez, tied with Tahiri Salinas, both with a magnificent result of 66. To complete the success, Samuel Ward qualified in 3rd place with 68. Here Nassim Hababou also played, and came 22nd with 75; Jon Julia and Dylan Richardson tied in the 36th place with 80; Marc Escayola and Kanran Hababou tied in the 40th place with 82; and Nicolas Quixano in the 45th place with 139. In Scratch, our best player was Alex Giménez, 5th with 80 shots; while Samuel Ward was 11th with 83. And in Women’s Handicap, Mia Digny finished 11th with 96 shots.
In the 3rd Category, for Benjamines on 9 holes, the Scratch classification had Álvaro de Castro as runner-up, with 35 shots, one more than the winner Marcos Leach from Cerdaña Golf. In 5th place was Anis Hababou with 40 shots; in the 13th Carlos Bellido with 48 shots; and in the 16th Gabriel de Souza with 49 shots.
Congratulations to the winners, to all of you, and a big thank you to Miguel Ángel Jiménez.
