Following the route of the scoring events for the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) in Catalonia, we started the month of April by taking part at the Torremirona International Open 2021. And also, because it scores for the Grand Prix 2021 Absolute (male and female), Boy, Girl and Cadet (male and female) of the Federació Catalana de Golf.
With three exciting rounds ahead, from Saturday 3 to Monday 5 taking advantage of Easter, eight players from the Barcelona Golf Academy went to the Girona club to compete with their highest quality golf in a great international environment. With a start with good sun and no wind, the 108 golfers found themselves accompanied by perfect weather and a course in spectacular conditions. And as the rounds went by, the excitement grew to decide the winners.
In the absolute male category, our best player was Maxim Danilin, who played well to score cards of 70, 71 and 75, to finish in a good 4th place with 215 shots, being also 3rd in Boys. Alejandro de Castro finished 13th tied, and eighth in Boys, with a total of 225 shots. Meanwhile, Vladimir Taldykin finished the 65th with 259 shots.
In the Cadet category, it is worth highlighting Joan Panisello, who started very well with a 71, and then finished 10th with 234 shots, being also the 30th in the absolute category; Juan de Castro was 29th with 267 shots; and Daniil Taldykin the 31st with 280 shots.
Meanwhile, in the absolute female category, Alisa Khokhlova also finished 4th (and 4th in Girls), with rounds of 71, 77 and 73 for a total of 221 shots. She was accompanied by Valeria Biarge, who finished 14th with 231 shots.
